Funding resources for non-profits and individual artists
So you have a great project idea! Now comes the hard part. How can you afford to do it? It is a challenge that all artists and art organizations face and in most cases we are starkly aware that ticket sales, registration fees, admissions or even the sale price of an artwork will not pay all of the bills.
Non-Profit organizations are able to solicit donations or offer memberships, but individual artists do not usually have the luxury of finding an array of philanthropists to support their endeavors. However, both non-profits and individuals can apply for grant funding to help sustain their mission or bring their work to fruition. The hunt for the right corporation or foundation can be difficult, but in the lists below we have pulled together just a few of the organizations that fund community arts and artists in this area. We hope that these resources will help spark some ideas!

*Note, it always helps to reach out to your local corporate representative by phone and ask them for advice about applying. Additionally, many more local corporations have community funding set aside and are worth approaching but we have only included the organizations here with open online applications.
