Creatives from the Couch
The Bennington Area Arts Council invites all creatives affected by social distancing to enter its Creative from the Couch contest. During these next few months the events and activities that many artists rely on for their income have been cancelled or postponed. To bring attention to the struggles of the creative economy and encourage creatives to take this opportunity to create work and promote themselves, the Arts Council will be giving away $750 to all creatives affected by the Coronavirus.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE?
Make a video of yourself performing or creating music, poetry, art, etc.
Elligibility
To be considered for prizes, participant must:

Regularly get paid for performing or creating art,

Live within a 30 mile radius of Bennington, VT, and

Have lost income opportunities due to COVID-19
*We do encourage everyone to participate even if you aren't eligible for prizes.
Prizes
Participation Award: $25

The first 20 submissions before May 1, 2020 will be receive a Participation Award. Only one Participation Award per person. The funds have been generously donated by a former BAAC board member. Should more funds become available, the Arts Council will continue to provide additional Participation Awards to participants in the order submissions were received. The video with the most likes (including hearts, etc.) by 12 noon on May 1, 2020 will be awarded the Grand Prize. Participants can submit multiple videos for multiple chances to win the Grand Prize.
